One of the stranger movie merchandisings of the late 1980’s. Police Academy: The Series was an animated Saturday morning cartoon. I guess parents did not mind it was based on an R rated movie?! Pictured here is a coloring book I have from Golden Books, 1989. The story is all about stolen doughnuts, of course!

I watched one of my favorite 80’s movies this weekend, Mannequin! It does not get much better than Andrew McCarthy, James Spader and Estelle Getty! Of course Andrew and James have been in several of my favorite 80’s movies. I just happen to have the 45 of the main song for this movie too! The price on the back is $1.93…so $0.99 on itunes is a good price me thinks!

Yahoo Internet Life (YIL) magazine was a strange little creation from the dawn of the tech bubble. It featured reviews and collections of links to all the latest and greatest on the web circa 1997. We’re talking animated gifs and sites with loads of frames. The issue below, from February 1997, informs us that search engines found 6,000 hits for Elvira. Today that search returns 35,700,000.
I’m not really sure why the felt the need to reenact scenes from the movie and them show the scene they just reenacted but anyway it’s a hot 80’s song!
Pontiac build’s excitement….or at least before they closed! Heard word today that the Pontiac brand is on the chopping block. Can’t say I mind it. This commercial is way more fun than any car they ever made.
Instead of 1 big box, a series of big boxes!
